Back Bay Campground

Tucked away on the southern end of Black Lake, Back Bay Campground is truly a little off the beaten path. Getting here includes a 1.75-mile drive along a maintained dirt road that leads you away from the county route  and toward Back Bay. At the end, you'll find a traditional lakeside campground with comfortable, thoughtfully appointed vacation rentals, RV and tent sites, and direct access to one of Northern New York's best-known fishing lakes.

While our setting feels tucked away, our cottages are anything but bare-bones campground cabins. Our vacation rentals are designed to offer the comforts you'd expect from a quality short-term rental, including private bathrooms, kitchens or kitchenettes, comfortable furnishings, linens, and thoughtful amenities. Many have been extensively renovated and updated, while each retains its own character.

Back Bay itself has the layout and atmosphere of a traditional campground. Some cottages and RV sites are close to neighboring accommodations, while others have more open space around them. You'll see other guests, hear families enjoying their vacations, and experience the community atmosphere that comes with campground life. We're tucked away, but we're not a secluded resort.

Once you're here, there's plenty to keep you from wanting to leave: Black Lake fishing and boating, a heated pool, walking trails, boat launch, docks, 24/7 game room, 24/7 bait and tackle vending, 24/7 ice cream vending, camp store, and boat and watercraft rentals.
